THE TRUSSWORTHY CO. is growing – We want YOU to grow with us! We are looking for a hardworking, dependable Cutter/Sawyer to utilize their skills and advance with our company.

What you will do:

• Work in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.
• Knowledge of complex component miter saws to cut timbers or boards.
• Understand the difference between grades, lengths, and widths of lumber (i.e., the difference between 2 by 4, 2 by 6, and 2 by 8 wood).
• Understand the angles on a miter saw and protractor or speed square.
• Organize, cut, and stack lumber.
• Setting the pace, production, and quality standards at your workstation.
• Must be able to lift and carry frequently up to 75-100 lbs.
• Work in an environment where safety comes first. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses and hearing protection) throughout the shift.
• Be punctual and reliable; able to work overtime hours as needed and Saturdays.
• Adhere to OSHA requirements and company safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of lumber cutting, truss building, or construction experience but will train the right person if they have experience in a production environment.
• Must have a team-focused approach to work.
• Must have the drive to learn and work for a start-up company.
• Must be able to stand and walk throughout the 8-to-10 hours shift.
• Would be required to perform lifting, pushing, or kneeling tasks.
• Work is performed in an environment where you will be subject to temperature variations and loud noises.
• Knowledge of safety procedures while performing lumber handling and sawing tasks.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to read and understand simple diagrams.
• Knowledge of basic math, angles, and use of measuring tools.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
