Live-in House Mother for Christian Maternity Home

Full-time, Live-in Position

Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries, Inc. (RLOM), located in Sanford, FL, operates both a maternity home for women in crisis pregnancies and a transitional living home for women and their children who are moving toward an independent life. Our Christ-centered programs provide opportunities to develop effective life skills, complete or continue education, improve financial position and learn positive parenting methods while surrounded by a loving and structured environment. RLOM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

Position Summary: The role of House Mother is critical to the overall success of the maternity home program, and more importantly, to our residents. In this role you are a key member of our client support staff. You will provide emotional support to our residents as well as a be helper, teacher, role model and overseer of the needs and upkeep of the physical home.

Minimum Requirements:

· Must be 30 years of age or older and have a personal relationship with Christ

· Have a valid in state driver’s license, at least 5 years driving experience and, a clean driving record

· HS diploma or GED

· Pass a level 2 background screening

· Ability to regularly lift 20 pounds

· Must be eligible for work in the United States

· Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain

· Formal or informal experience working with pregnant women during labor and delivery and postpartum period is preferable

Skills:

· Ability to maintain composure with people in emotional situations and de-escalate conflict

· Maintain personal boundaries, and be able to work closely with a variety of personalities

· Be highly organized

· Ability to plan and prioritize schedules and other work

· Time Management

· Nutritional knowledge and cooking skills

· Ability to establish authority with loving kindness

Areas of Responsibility:

· Teach life skill in areas of personal care, household duties, and health and well-being of both mother and baby as needed

· Manage resident schedule for chore assignments and meal preparation

· Assist and approve residents meal planning with emphasis on nutritional education

· Meal preparation several times a week

· Shopping for shared household groceries and supplies

· Maintain household inventory

· Evaluate and document daily resident performance/compliance report

· Orientation of new residents and residents exiting the program

· Transportation as necessary (in RLOM company van)

· Ensure overall maintenance, cleanliness and order of the home

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $31,500.00 per year
