The Winfield at Richmond Heights is a Senior Living community located in Richmond Heights that provides Independent and Assisted Living Services. Our Community promotes a warm and respectful atmosphere for all of our residents and staff.

We are currently searching for Charge Nurse/LPN-Night Shift for immediate hire.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position provides direct nursing care at the highest degree of quality under the direction of the Wellness Director to residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state and local regulations that govern our facility.

This nurse position reports directly to the Wellness Director

Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position include but are not limited to the following:

* Meet the nursing needs of each resident

* Attend regular meetings to exchange information about the status of residents and personal care services

* Follow physician's orders, render/assist with complete nursing care

* Transcribe physician's orders promptly & accurately

* Prepare assessments of each resident to determine appropriate care

* Complete care plans for each resident

* Provide supervision and assistance to residents in regards to activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting/incontinence care, ambulation, transfers & to supervise self-administered medication

* Update patient records, and document complete nursing notes

* Visit each resident on a daily basis to evaluate resident needs. Observe changes in resident conditions and promptly report them. Give report of relevant resident information to each oncoming shift through a verbal and/or written report

* Document and report any unusual or significant findings and contact the physician as necessary

* Administer medication according to physician orders; closely monitor medication administration

* Maintain an accurate and safe control on all drugs for which he/she is responsible

* Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary

* Demonstrate correct safety techniques

* Take care of all facility equipment

* Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions

* Promote positive resident and family relations

* Demonstrate leadership skills

* Participate in all in-service trainings as well as all emergency drills

* Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position:

* Current Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing

* CPR certified or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

* Must be able to make independent decisions when necessary

* Must have critical thinking ability, must be able to determine appropriate solutions to issues as they arise. Must be able to remain calm in emergency situations

* Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members and all visitors

* Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws that govern Assisted Living Facilities in Ohio

* Must possess leadership skills and the willingness to work harmoniously with all personnel

* Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the program, goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care

* Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills

* Must be knowledgeable with drug actions and interactions

* Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents

* Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into the existing nursing practices

* Must have reliable transportation

* Must be able to pass new hire physical and have clean background check
