Job Description
The Department of Social Sciences seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment beginning in Fall 2023. Candidates with experience and/or interest in teaching first-year government courses for dual credit and/or early college high school students are preferred. Also preferred are candidates with a specialization in legal studies. The successful candidate will teach introductory government courses, some of which may occur at a local high school, in conjunction with supplemental instruction and learning community staff, and participate in professional development and assessment. The base teaching load for this position at A&M-SA is 4/4. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Education and Experience:

An M.A. or Ph.D. by the time of appointment in Political Science or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

A demonstrated specialization in Political Science.

University teaching experience with first-year government courses.

Willingness to teaching courses at local high schools
