Job description
LECOM Institute for Behavioral Health, an equal opportunity employer, is currently searching for a Clinical Supervisor.
The Clinical Supervisor oversees the social work and mental health intake, assessment, and therapy services of the practice and is responsible for ensuring that clinical services are meeting Millcreek Community Hospital (MCH) Provider Based Clinic guidelines and licensing requirements.
The position provides clinical and administrative support to clinic employees and oversees intake and therapy schedule management, caseload assignments, and clinical documentation. The position liaisons with providers, patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective care.
The Supervisor is required to ensure all quality standards are being met, that services provided promote best practices and patient-centered approaches, and that all clinical staff members receive required supervision and training. The Clinical Supervisor works in conjunction with the Clinic Director to ensure the day-to-day clinical operations of the practice are efficient, effective, and that program standards and quality initiatives are met.
The Clinical Supervisor will provide direct services in the form of intake and mental health assessment as well as individual, family, and/or group therapy as assigned by the Clinic Director. Indirect care coordination for patients will also be facilitated by the Clinical Supervisor.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Service Delivery
· Carryout all Mental Health Professional duties including, but not limited to, mental health intakes and assessment, mental health therapy, and care coordination.
· Facilitate Clinic Review Team meetings with Medical Director.
· Present cases for review to Medical Director for any assigned staff unable to attend meetings.
· Assist practice staff with management of patient safety and/or behavioral health crises as requested by the Clinic Director.
· Lead by example and ensure all clinical documentation for services rendered are timely and complete.
· Ensure that clinical social work services of the practice are managed appropriately according to program standards.
· Function as a lead point-of-contact for issues related to MHP/MHW services provided and work collaboratively with others to ensure proper clinical care is provided and needed referrals are handled timely.
Administrative Operations
· Work with Clinic Director, Medical Director, and others to ensure that appropriate policies/procedures are in place.
· Collaborate with Clinic Director, Medical Director, and Operations team to develop MHP/MHW schedule that maximizes access, capacity, and revenue generation opportunities.
· Work in conjunction with the Clinic Director to establish and monitor productivity, utilization, engagement, and productivity of MHP and MHWs.
· Work in conjunction with the Clinic Director to ensure all assigned staff are meeting performance standards and job expectations.
· Represent the clinic through participation in activities which inform the community of the clinic's function and services.
Quality Management & Compliance
· Monitor and implement procedures and standards to ensure regulatory requirements and quality outcomes are met or exceeded for the department.
· Review and sign all MHP and MHW MH Intake Assessments and Treatment Plans.
· Ensure treatment plans authored by MHP/MHW are reviewed and co-signed by Psychiatrist.
· Maintain Clinical Review Team meeting records and case review sign up/agendas.
· Work with Clinic Director to develop chart auditing process and ensure patient charts meet quality/regulatory standards.
· Assist in monitoring and execution of quality improvement plans.
· Assist Clinic Director with monitoring and reporting practice quality indicators and outcomes.
· Contribute to routine risk assessments and safety/compliance planning.
· Respond to patient concerns/complaints within 24 business hours.
· Assist with reviews, investigations, and/or reports related to patient complaints.
· Assist staff with timely completion of all incident reporting per policy and regulations.
Supervision
· Maintain a presence within the clinic location(s) in order to provide assigned staff with oversight and guidance regarding clinical needs.
· Ensure that required clinical supervision is provided to all staff in accordance with program-specific requirements.
· Ensure all MHPs/MHWs receive required monthly supervision time with Medical Director.
· Maintain documentation binders of clinical supervision.
· Oversee, make recommendations, and ensure that all staff are receiving appropriate training.
· Recommend additional development for staff as applicable.
· Develop consistent supervision and consultative opportunities for assigned staff.
· Manage staff by assigning and delegating tasks as needed.
· Perform annual employee reviews and provide ongoing constructive feedback on performance.
· Manage employee corrective actions and work with supervisor and human resources to ensure proper protocol is followed as required by personnel policies.
· Participate and/or facilitate in routine staff communication and contribute to practice staff meeting agendas and discussion.
Other Duties:
· Personally adheres to the mission, vision, philosophy, guiding principles and core values of LECOM Health and demonstrates commitment to the LH system.
· Be familiar with and implement all relevant office policies and procedures.
· Attend all office meetings, clinical supervisions, and training sessions.
· Understand and adhere to the professional policies and standards in the Millcreek Community Hospital Employee Handbook.
· Goodwill ambassador for LECOM Health by promoting awareness to the patient of all physicians and services LECOM Health provides.
· Adhere to obligations under clinic’s Duty to Warn policy.
· Pursues professional development opportunities, both individually and as deemed appropriate by supervisor for clinic participation.
· Participates on committees, special projects, and all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge:
· Graduate Degree in mental health, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
· Current PA LPC, LCSW, LMFT, and/or Licensed Psychologist (or license eligible) preferred.
· Two years of supervisory experience in the mental health, healthcare, or related field required.
· Must have positive and supportive attitude toward the clinic, LECOM Health system, patients receiving care, and employees.
· Possesses or able to acquire knowledge of Erie County Mental Health Resources and mental health level of care determination.
· Knowledge of trauma informed care preferred.
· Quality management experience preferred.
· Ability to maintain effective and organized systems.
· Must be able to obtain Act 33/34 and FBI clearances upon hire.
· Must complete Mandated Reporter training within 30 days of hire.
· Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
