Job Title: Janitorial Crew Supervisor
Department: Business Services
Reports To: Project Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General Purpose of the Job: The overall purpose is to provide support and supervision to the janitorial crew at locations specified in the contract. The Janitorial Crew Supervisor works alongside janitorial staff and Job Coaches while providing on-site supervision as required in the specified contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides supervision to janitorial staff working at assigned site.
2. Records daily attendance of janitorial staff.
3. Completes and collects required daily paperwork as specified in the contract.
4. Ensures daily janitorial task checklists are completed.
5. Inspects location to ensure janitorial staff cleans and disinfects areas properly.
6. Conducts inspections with contracting agency as required.
7. Thoroughly cleans and disinfects restrooms.
8. Cleans and disinfects counter tops, sinks, toilets and/or urinals.
9. Cleans and disinfects door latches, walls, and bathroom stall partitions.
10. Ensures toilet paper dispensers are refilled as needed.
11. Sweeps and mops floors.
12. Cleans and disinfects hand dryers.
13. Cleans and disinfects baby changing stations.
14. Refills soap dispensers as needed.
15. Cleans all mirrors and glass surfaces.
16. Ensures all light fixtures are clean and all lights are operational. Replaces lightbulbs as needed.
17. Ensures bathrooms do not have any noticeable odors.
18. Ensures all family restrooms are clean and functional.
19. Cleans utility areas of buildings.
20. Cleans and disinfects all water fountains.
21. Cleans foyer areas.
22. Cleans and disinfects doors, handles, and commonly touched areas. clean
23. Ensures walls are clean and painted surfaces are in good condition where applicable.
24. Ensures all signs are clean and functional.
25. Empties trash receptacles, ensure they are clean, functional, and equipped with plastic liner bags.
26. Clears exterior premises of all trash and debris including sidewalk, curb, gutter, and parking lot.
27. Maintains the lawn and garden in a clean and orderly condition.
28. Ensures picnic slabs, tables, and shelters are clean, well maintained, and functional
29. Cleans vending machines areas.
30. Ensures supplies and equipment are stored and locked up in appropriate rooms and/or closets.
31. Ensures adequate supplies are available.
32. Completes other duties as assigned.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Trims shrubbery as assigned between April and October.
2. Weeds flowerbeds and waters plants on a daily basis.
3. Ensures walkways, roadways, and parking lots are clear of snow and ice.
4. Cleans internal and external windows twice a year.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Ø High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ø At least one year experience working in a janitorial or custodial capacity.
Ø Supervisory Experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Ø Must have a state issued driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency's insurance carrier and Agency policy
Language Skills:
Ø Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Other Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Demands:
Ø Walking significant distances.
Ø Running occasionally.
Ø Standing for a significant amount of time, up to two hours occasionally.
Ø Lifting or pushing 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
Ø Frequent reaching, stooping, grasping, balancing, kneeling, and crouching.
Ø Ability to stay awake and attentive throughout entire shift.
Ø Operating machines, motor vehicles, and job-specific equipment and tools.
Ø Sufficient visual acuity to observe general surroundings and activities of Individuals.
Ø Sufficient hearing ability to accurately perceive information at normally spoken word levels.
Ø Safely work in situations of exposure to blood borne pathogens which may require specialized protective equipment provided by the agency.
Work Environment:
Ø Both indoor and outdoor environment, with potential exposure to weather elements, such as rain, wind, or snow.
Ø Exposure to moderate to high volumes of noise including loud voices, office equipment, and cleaning devices such as vacuum cleaners and buffing machines.
Ø Work environments may include video and/or audio monitoring.
