Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark provide leadership in the design, development, optimization and operation of manufacturing and supporting processes. The incumbent reports to the Product System Leader and receives direction in the form the Asset Team Leader along with broad assignment objectives

  • Candidates will have a demonstrated ability to effectively interface with a broad range of team members in a multi-discipline engineering and manufacturing environment

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of assets, supporting processes, and supports day to day operations to meet unit objectives.
  • Lead multiple expense projects, to improve process reliability, safety, overall operational performance, and to support cost transformation objectives.
  • Support new capital projects
  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
  • Seek, recognize, define, and solve problems to achieve unit objectives
  • Participate and leader four-step problem solving
  • Work with external technical service providers, construction management providers and sourcing and supply vendor partners.
  • Continuing self-development.
  • Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise, including providing direction and building talent of Maintenance Team.
  • Be a leader on the floor in regard to safety, quality, productivity cost and reliability best practices.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role with a variety of technical or operational assignments, including demonstrated leadership in achieving results.
  • Strong experience with mechanical process and equipment.
  • Recognized expert in manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into improved asset performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
  • Ability to lead problem solving that engage the team to deliver improved performance in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (One Note, Excel, Microsoft Project, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to design, draw and implement new parts/designs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five + years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations.
  • Experience and expertise with Kimberly-Clark manufacturing mechanical engineering technology, procedures, processes, and products.
  • Experience working with external technical service providers.
  • Demonstrated continuing self-development (i.e., progress toward an advanced degree).
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Prefer candidates with working knowledge of Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and Solidworks.
