POSITION SUMMARY:
Boston Medical Center is seeking an Intake Coordinator for its 26-bed Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) unit located in Brockton, MA. The Intake Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all intakes that are received at the CSS Program. The Intake Coordinator will ensure timely responses to all requests and manages the registration process of the patients. The intake coordinator makes sure that all required patient information for new patients is received and processed. The intake coordinator should also have a solid understanding of substance abuse clinic services and knowledge of its clerical functions. The Intake Coordinator should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have multi-tasking skills in order to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Respond within the appropriate time frame requirements to all intake requests
- Gather intake information and patient records
- Review referrals and verify all information
- Obtain insurance information
- Complete Admissions paperwork
- Referral log creation and maintenance
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all patient care information to assure rights are protected
- Schedule and coordinate intake appointments into the facility
- Maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other external referring agencies
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) or associates degree (with 3+ years of related experience)
EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of the addiction treatment continuum and related community-based resources
- Experience in treatment settings for substance use disorders.
- Strong knowledge of dual diagnosis treatment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills
