Job Summary and Qualifications

The Operating Room – Certified Scrub Tech is responsible for pulling cases, scrub cases and assist physician with surgery.

What you will do in this role:

• You will check instruments and equipment before patients arrival to the operating room; ensure instruments are functioning appropriately.
• You will participate in time-out.
• You will be aware of fire risk and be prepared to respond if necessary.
• You will perform counts.
• You role assists in turn-over of OR’s between cases.
• Your role makes changes to preference cards as needed.
• You will hand-off all specimen to the circulator.
• You will prepare instruments to return to Central Sterile; by spraying all instruments and covering for transport to Central Sterile.
• You will restock unused trays.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School or GED required
• Scrub Tech certification required
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• One-year surgery experience preferred.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times. Visit us for excellent general and OB care!
