Job description

Heidi’s Village is an innovative concept in animal welfare, providing low-cost boarding and veterinary services exclusively to community rescue organizations. Shifts available: 5:00am – 9:00am, 7 days per week

Position Available: The Cleaning Crew provides daily cleaning of the village kennels, wards/yards, dishes/supplies and other common areas while keeping within our safety guidelines and the health and well-being of the animals.

Opportunity for Advancement: If you love animals and aspire to work more directly with them, cleaning crew positions may ultimately be able to train in entry-level animal care roles. You could be paid to learn the foundational animal care skills required to advance your career in animal welfare, all while having fun with like-minded people who put animals first and foremost!

The position(s) involve:

  • Cultivating positive attitude and coworker relations through professional and courteous interactions
  • Must be able to actively stand/walk/bend while handling a wide variety of cleaning for entire shift duration
  • Work is performed in a moderate to fast paced environment and requires critical adherence to established quality levels while completing within timeframe allotted
  • Work is performed in a potentially high decibel area, with varied temperature control, and with safety equipment often required
  • Communicating effectively with coworkers to ensure efficient production and deadlines are met
  • Participation in continuous process improvement
  • Keeping work area neat and clean and following all established safety guidelines
  • Working both independently and within a team structure
  • Strict adherence to company policies regarding attendance and punctuality
  • Performing additional and/or general duties, as assigned

A successful candidate must possess the following skillsets or attributes:

  • Stamina to walk/stand/move continuously and daily for entire shift, walking on all types of surfaces, oftentimes slippery/uneven/rough
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or control heavy cleaning supplies/equipment and perform duties that require repetitive lifting, bending, and stooping

· Ability to withstand environmental factors that include both indoor and outdoor activities, including extreme heat of AZ summers

  • Ability to work with and/or around others with frequent interruptions
  • High attention to detail and exceptional quality standards
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a team and independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform work accurately, but with expediency
  • Dependability/reliability – early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable!
  • Achievement-oriented and self-motivated
  • Cleaning in an animal welfare/vet clinic/doggy daycare industry experience, knowledge, or interest a plus

We offer an environment that will challenge and reward personal and professional growth and take pride in the following values:

  • Commitment – We are mission focused, open to new ideas, and committed to excellence
  • Harmony – We value and promote harmonious relationships, internally and externally
  • Accountability – We hold ourselves accountable for our actions, accept responsibility, and have high expectations of ourselves and each other
