Position Profile

The position will work closely with the Director of Accounting and Operations to ensure the accuracy of our financials and to provide exceptional support to our clients and internal teams, supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This role will routinely partner with others across multiple functions, ensuring proper alignment with policies and procedures for financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting with all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a timely manner, including preparing journal entries.
• Support the company through regular and ad hoc reporting.
• Prepare reconciliations including but not limited to accrued expenses, fixed assets, and bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Communicate with the internal department regarding budget versus actuals.
• Maintain fixed asset records.
• Assist with preparation of tax returns, Forms 1099, external and internal audits with requested data and coordination as needed.
• Ensures employees follow the correct accounting procedure and provide guidance.
• Act as an integral team member able to back up each team member.
• Have the flexibility and resiliency to handle altering duties as business needs change; desire and ability to suggest and make process improvements.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of professional accounting and bookkeeping practices.
• Other job duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, CPA a plus
• Knowledge of full cycle accounting
• Attentive to accuracy and detail, ability to problem solve and find solutions
• Strong work ethic and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to work independently and contribute as a team
• Willingness to consistently and accurately follow established policies and procedures.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality while working with company data.
• Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Excel, Word, Concur, and QuickBooks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the biotech, pharmaceutical or related industry
• Experience working in a start-up environment

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
