DIS-TRAN Steel is looking for an Inventory Clerk to join the Inventory team in Pineville.
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely record-keeping of inventory data; this includes processing transactions in the ERP System. This position is the primary source of documentation for DIS-TRAN Steel’s structural material, which ensures adequate inventory tracking & job costing.

Responsibilities:
- Inventory Receiving: Utilizes ERP and other systems to accurately and timely record the arrival and receipt of raw material into the ERP system. This includes the timely retrieval and processing and review of pre-shipment notifications from vendors. Includes the process of arrivals prior to delivery, printing tags prior to delivery, completing the QA Receiving Inspection form, final receipts in the ERP, applying tags in the yard, & verifying / reconciling ordered materials against what is being received to ensure material quality and accuracy from vendors.
- Document Retention. This includes collecting, filing, and maintaining all records (in ERP and Physically) in relation to the fab inventory department. Documents include but are not limited to Purchase Orders, Bill of Ladings, MTR’s, Receiving Tickets (aka Pack Slips), QA Receiving Inspection Forms, Cut Lists (open and closed), and various Request Forms; timely communication of receipts with the Accounting Dept.
- Inventory Transfers/Drops. This includes reconciling drops against cut lists and then processing transfers of raw material against jobs and returning drops to stock. Responsible for other various inventory movements/transactions that should be recorded in the ERP system. This position serves as the main source of information when reconciling inventory variances.
- Crane and Forklift Operation. This position is required to backup crane and forklift operation as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Three plus years of experience working in a clerical position in a manufacturing / industrial environment required.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Must have acceptable driving history.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
