Job description

RK&K is hiring an Civil Construction Inspector to monitor active construction sites and perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate if appropriate materials and construction processes are being used. Come join our team of professionals in Baltimore, Maryland.
Basic Responsibilities
On-site supervision of contractor work crews to verify and ensure compliance with contract documents
Read and interpret contract documents
Direct supervision of Contractor work crews to verify and ensure that good & safe construction practices are being employed to produce quality results
Directly responsible for reporting on-site activities and daily progress
Responsible for calculation and determination of pay quantities
Responsible to be able to witness, understand, and verify all required on-site testing is being performed in accordance with applicable standards
Responsible to successfully acquire and maintain current testing certifications (ACI, Soil & Aggregates, Hot Mix Asphalt, etc.)

Required Experience and Education:
Associate degree from a nationally accredited college or university in any of the following areas of study: Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Environmental, or Systems disciplines)
Business Management, Logistics, Information Technology, or similar course of study
3+ years’ experience in Transit & Highway Construction activities; 2 years of which must have been spent at the level of a Civil Inspector-I or equivalent.
Must be able to operate basic Microsoft Office applications, laptop and iPad
Excellent communication skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Capable of working independently on small construction projects
Ability to pass Criminal History Background Check (CHBC)
Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record
