- Ability to provide computer related support
- Maintain and set up computers and printers
- Printer repair is outsourced to local printer technology provider
- Interface with application providers as needed
- Work cooperatively with SCA IT providers to manage servers, switches, workstations and applications as needed
- Work cooperatively with SCA IT on network upgrades and networking equipment refresh
- Work with corporate IT on server refreshes and on server and software implementation
- Assist end users with software issues and work with them to better utilize software programs
- Work cooperatively with the maintenance department in areas related to technology
- Assist in ordering of computer related equipment and materials
- Assist and research new technologies that can benefit the center
- Develop and streamline work methodologies using technology to provide cost savings and performance improvements within the center
- Maintain technology asset inventory and standards for technology refresh
- Dispose of old assets using company procedures
- Work with center teammates on new software rollouts and implementation creating a positive learning environment
- Maintain and update video surveillance equipment
- Maintain and update on-site communication equipment including video displays and content
Responsibilities that fall within the Corporate IT domain are:
- Maintain server backups, server patches, operating systems, domain policy, antivirus, hardware defects and replacement as needed
- Maintain and program all connectivity within the building to include network switches, fire walls, routers, fiber connections, internet, wi-fi routers, access points and all other technical hardware for the efficient running of the data network
- Maintain and backup all data bases within and outside of the facility
- Handle all desktop and server support that is called into the Service Now Data Center
- Provide all data and hardware security using industry standards for secure communications between sites and computers/workstations at the center
- Manage all software licensing and registration to adhere to proper licensing standards and compliance with our vendor programs, i.e., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Operating Systems, client license, backup license, data base license and other licenses needed to operate all servers, backups, virus protection and other items deemed necessary for operational functionality.
- Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or college; three to five years of experience in a computer related field, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office, Medical Software and Applications
- Knowledge of networking including VLANs, switches, routing, security, firewalls, servers, storage, virtualization and WAN connectivity
- Knowledge of premise wiring including copper and fiber
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi communications systems
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 6 months of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification
Environmental Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Work is indoors in climate-controlled (with occasional exposure to outdoor climate) patient care environment with potential exposure to unpleasant odors, blood and body fluids that may carry infection, communicable disease, chemical and electrical hazards
- Good visual acuity with accurate color vision
- Ability to lift/transfer items in excess of 35 pounds which may require pushing, pulling and essentially utilizing full range of body movement using proper body mechanics
- Sitting and walking for extensive periods of time
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching
- Manual and finger dexterity
- Ability to speak and hear
