As an Infection Prevention Control Officer, you will be responsible for administering the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation / sub-acute care nursing center. You will identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of COVID and other acquired infections among residents, staff and guests. You will manage and administer the centers COVID testing schedules as needed and educate staff on CDC updates, as well as ensure staff are educated on proper use of PPD. You will serve as the center’s knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission ,and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities! Qualifications:

• Active RN Licensure in the state of practice OR a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in education and experience in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Medical Technology, or related.
• Two (2) or more years’ experience as an Infection Preventionist or related healthcare professional with knowledge of infection prevention and control, microbiology, infectious diseases, and epidemiology in patient care practices.
• CDC - IPCO Certification required or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment.
