The Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Cloud Architect is responsible for leading the creation of a technology framework and providing technical leadership in support of HNB’s initiatives in cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. The Cloud Architect reports into the Chief Development Office but would be embedded into the Cloud-IaC effort to provide architectural leadership and best practices. Additionally, the Cloud Architect will be responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery. Implementing your ideas, innovations, and prototypes to help transform the cultural and IT capabilities of a top regional financial institution.
The position requires strong leadership and team building skills and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals.
Cloud Architecture and Design and Development
· Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)
· Demonstrate knowledge of Infrastructure as Code software and templates: Terraform, CDM, CFT, ARM, etc.
· Demonstrate knowledge of Security as Code principles, policy, best practices, and tools
· Demonstrate knowledge of Credential, Certificate and Encryption best practices, rotation, and policies
· Demonstrate knowledge of ADO pipelines
· Demonstrate knowledge of source code management best principles and best practices
· Demonstrate knowledge of DevSecOps tool chains and processes
· Function as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for HNB cloud end-to-end architecture, networking, provisioning, and management.
· Define and apply cloud design patterns, based on the HNB application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
· Back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros, and cons for each, and provide recommendations.
· Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.
· Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
· Contribute to DevSecOps development activities and complex development tasks.
· Research, propose, and design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
· Evaluate existing application stacks and articulate cloud-based/native designs and/or migration strategy (e.g., re-platform or re-architect applications in cloud)
Thought Leadership
· Provide thought leadership to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.
· Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts.
· Advocate and contribute to cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems.
Mentoring
· Demonstrate best practices and mentorship to team members and technical staff on their assigned project tasks.
· Develop a cohesive team and ensure their continued success.
· Contribute to the definition and development of cloud reference architecture.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
· 7 + years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
Preferred Qualifications
· A professional cloud solutions architect certification
· Familiarity with financial industry
· Understanding of containers and serverless computing concepts
· Background in application and infrastructure monitoring tools
· Background in Databases or Data warehousing
· Background in Digital experience & agile delivery
· Experience as a team lead
· Full stack engineering knowledge – application, network, infrastructure
· Experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework.
· Experience deploying and operating traditional, on-prem IT infrastructure.
· Experience building and deploying DevSecOps automated delivery of IT infrastructure and services.
· Familiarity with service design and pricing in the context of cloud based solutioning.
· A foundation in cloud security and risk based operating principles.
· Understanding of cloud financial billing
· Strong knowledge of cloud providers and available services with demonstrated hands-on experience.
· Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies
· Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis, and design, and/or client/server systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $145,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
