The college enrolls nearly 25,000 students annually at its seven instructional sites, with graduates serving in critical fields including health care, emergency services, business, education, hospitality, engineering, technology and more.


We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as a HVAC Technician II.


Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and minimum of (5) years of recent work experience, or related experience in the air condition/refrigeration industry. This position also requires a Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recover Certificate (EPA).


This is a part time (20 hours per week), non-exempt position with a minimum hourly rate of 16.83 per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.


Working Hours: Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for faculty and students for assigned laboratory.
  • Assisting faculty and students with equipment operation, coursework, and testing.
  • Maintenance of lab equipment, record keeping and inventory/supplies.
  • Supervise and assist in training of students.
  • Assists students in safe operation of lab equipment during lab projects in compliance with College rules and guidelines.
  • Monitor students and lab activity for any safety/security violations
  • Preparing and setting up labs for coursework as requested by faculty.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate should have knowledge and experience working on various HVAC equipment; knowledge of Energy Management Systems; ability to perform work involving set procedures. This position requires light work that involves walking or standing most of the time, exerting up to 40 pounds of force on a recurring basis and routine bending and climbing. Ability to use a computer, and understand communications, instructions, regulations and procedures; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
