Responsibilities:

Business

· Serves as the primary HR contact and consultant for the organization.

· Advises, coaches and counsels leadership on human resources concerns to manage business, labor, and legal risk, and supports employee engagement and performance management.

· Maintains a strong understanding of business objectives; aligns and adjusts HR strategies to meet changing needs.

Recruiting & Development

· Understands the talent needs of the business and responds accordingly. Identifies talent issues before they affect the business.

· Ensures acquisition, development and retention of talent for the present and future by encouraging use of coaching, mentoring, on-the-job learning and training.

· Assures that company employment, personnel, and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with the applicable provisions of federal and state labor laws, including the maintenance of necessary files.

Employee/Labor Relations

· Partners and serves as a resource and advisor to managers on performance feedback, counseling, coaching, career development, disciplinary action, and terminations.

· Responds to and investigates employee relations issues such as employee concerns, harassment allegations and ethics violations by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations and documentation.

· Conduct exit interviews; perform analysis on feedback and reports findings and recommendations to leadership.

· Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

· Coaches, counsels, and primary internal point of contact for all LOA/FMLA questions and concerns.

· Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADAAA, USERRA, Pregnancy Disability Act, etc.)

Payroll

· Accurately oversee payroll for employees. Audit and verify all time keeping records and paid time off, as well as deductions and withholdings, resolving all inconsistencies or errors to ensure accuracy and timely paychecks.

· Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs and worker's compensation plans.

· Strong knowledge of state and federal payroll laws

· Proficiently explain company policies, benefits, and procedures to employees.

Qualifications:

· Broad HR experience in a variety of HR disciplines, including labor and employee relations, leave management, compensation, organizational development, HR processes, talent management and performance management.

· Strong knowledge of human resources principles and practices.

· Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with managers and employees with varying backgrounds and cultures.

· Ability to handle confidential and sensitive company information.

· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and general office equipment.

· Must be able to make fair, unbiased decisions and stay level headed in difficult situations.

· Must be able to quickly think of a problem through and make authoritative, autonomous decisions.

· Must maintain a professional demeanor and be able to work with all levels of employees.

· Bachelor's/Associate's degree preferred.

· 5+ years’ previous experience.
