New South Express is a company of Honda Logistics North America (HLNA) and provides logistics services to the Honda manufacturing facility. Logistics services include container yard transportation, receiving control, warehousing, consolidation/deconsolidation, parts sequencing for line side delivery, returnable container handling, and in process parts control. New South Express (NSE) was established in 2000 and has locations in Lincoln, AL and Talladega, AL.
New South Express (NSE) is currently seeking a Assistant Manager for our Human Resources Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute company recruiting plan, work with local career centers, technical schools, high schools, and other sources as deemed necessary to meet targets.
- Coordinate and Develop morale activities to engage associates throughout the company
- Provide guidance to management and peers on how to proactively manage individual and team performance
- Coordinate and execute exit interviews with departing associates, track trends, and team performance.
- Conduct and assist in associate investigations
- Develop and deliver training presentations on team’s progress
- Conduct audits of training team to ensure training material displayed is relevant to the job. Ensure OSHA requirements are being met based on training material.
- Collaborate and develop career progression model and training curriculum for the program
- Ensure all steps are being followed during the Onboarding Process (New Hire Orientation, Required Paperwork, and HRIS Entry)
- Ensure compliance with regulations at all applicable levels when carrying out employment actions such as hiring, promotion/demotion/transfer, and separation.
- Carry out appropriate reporting functions for the business unit, the HR department, and applicable third parties.
- Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
- Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.
- Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
- Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
- Team with Development Leads and Managers to deliver established learning program
- Act as a learning and talent development business advisor on effective and leading-edge learning and development strategies to achieve business goals
- Propose action plans and participate in their deployment.
- Collect information and prepare reports for KPI's
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Communicate with diverse groups and individuals and relate directly, clearly, and professionally (co-workers, customers, visitors)
- Maintain service award schedules
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills):
- High School Diploma or GED
- AS/BA/BS in human resources/related field; or five (5) – seven (7) years of working human resources with experience
- Must be able to work in a Warehouse Environment or Production Environment which consist of walking on concrete floors, and wearing Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, being around moving machinery.
- Must have a full understanding of OSHA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Medical Benefits, Payroll, and Worker’s Compensation. Must stay current on changing regulations as well as pending legislation.
- Must have a working background of 5 – 7 years in Human Resources with Employment laws experience, and OSHA Safety Regulations and Recordkeeping Minimum of 5 years of prior knowledge is required.
- Able to interact professionally within the company with our customer and associates.
- Able to lead project teams and present information to management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Maintains discretion when interacting with confidential/sensitive information and demonstrates impartiality.
- Experience in planning and scheduling meetings and appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, maintaining projects, conducting research, and providing information
- Able to create spreadsheets, compose correspondence, manage databases, and create presentations, reports, and documents by using desktop publishing software and digital graphics.
- Must have strong analytical abilities, the applicant will be required to pass a Microsoft Skills Assessment Placement Test.
- Experience in developing and implementing strong onboarding and training programs
- Self-starter who follows issues through to resolution
- Organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Able to interact with all levels of staff and management (internal and external)
- Must be flexible to work different hours as needed by the department/business
