Housewares/Giftware Merchandiser

We are seeking an experienced merchandiser to promote our Housewares and Gift department. Minimum of 5 years of visual merchandising experience a must. The fast paced retail environment requires great attention to detail in product placement and promotion. Plan and construct creative, timely and relevant visual displays to boost sales.

• Take an active role in display and presentation including; shelving construction, cleaning and pricing
• Purchase or create unique furniture pieces, displays or racks as needed for displaying merchandise
• Utilize available data from the Epicor and Compass systems to make decisions in product placement, display, pricing and markdown strategy to maximize sales

Work closely with the Merchandise Manager to ensure the purchasing and rebuying of product for the area keeps the assortment fresh and in season along with well supplied core lines

• Work with manufactures and vendors to explore new products, line refresh and communicate ideas to the Merchandise Manager
• Plan for early action on slow moving stock and communicate to Merchandise Manager and Store Manager a rebuy or hold strategy and markdown strategy
• Understand and be able to complete the receiving process for non-Ace vendor merchandise as needed to maintain receiving is current
• Coordinate and assist in the planning, promotion and execution of special events, product demos, tastings and other events
• Recommend products and services to customers and suggest items to meet their needs

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
