Job description

Administrators hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and discipline the staff at the transition home. The administrator monitors the progress of residents from the time of admission throughout their time at the facility.

Assist participants in developing the skills and thought patterns needed to overcome unhealthy or maladaptive behaviors.

The administrator shall be on the premises for the number of hours necessary to manage and administer the facility in compliance with applicable law and regulation.

Responsible for the direction and evaluation of the home within the limits of the functions and policies established by the licensee.

Preparation of the facility's budget and management of expenditures according to the facility's budget limitations.

Assessment of the facility operations and program; and reporting to the accountable agencies as well as making recommendations to address identified problems.

Organization of the work of the facility and delegation of responsibility to Leads and DSPs.

Orders PPE supplies and determines need for maintenance, repairs, and furnishings.

Responsible for the recruitment, development, evaluation and works with HR on corrective actions and termination of staff.

Ascertains need for and secures services.

Manages subordinate supervisors (Leads) who supervise DSP employees in the Transition House. The LA is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of the SARC RSO training. Program design training and point system training is also required.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must obtain a license administer certificate and maintain the annual CEUs to maintain license.
