Head of Finance Operations and Transformation, Group Benefits
In this role, you will report to the Head of Finance & Actuarial, Group Benefits and be responsible for driving the continuing evolution of the Group Finance operating model. You will be responsible for evaluating the current engagement model for Group Finance from both a process and technology standpoint, and leading change where appropriate. Collaborating with the Group Leadership team, the Finance Leadership team, and various other key partners, you will be accountable for aligning external partner needs and internal business requirements / controls in conjunction with the broader Guardian operating model to optimize the role of Finance. Acting as a change champion, you will drive modernization and efficiency across the business area with clearly defined measures of success and reporting to business partners.
You Will
- Document and evaluate key areas of Finance business process and technology against relevant measures of effectiveness.
- Ensure proper training and communication strategies are in place for all aspects of Finance transformation.
- Define the model by which to prioritize and drive analytic and optimization efforts across Group Benefits, along with the connection to the annual and strategic business operating plan.
- Partner with technology to transform and migrate Finance platforms in conjunction with Guardian’s standard processes and risk framework.
- Align the governance model to standardize case development and prioritization of Group investment decisions in conjunction with the strategic financial plan.
- Collaborate with the Group portfolio team to ensure proper program delivery metrics are established and reported on in a timely fashion.
- Provide expertise and guidance to rationalize business resource optimization and capacity planning across Group Benefits key initiatives.
- Drive a higher level of connectivity between business driven and corporate Finance functions.
You Have
- 15+ years of proven experience within with minimum of 5 years in the insurance industry.
- Significant business transformation / optimization and project management experience, preferably within a Finance function.
- Demonstrated eye for business with ability to build relationships with senior executive leadership
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills combined with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational savvy with ability to influence with sense of urgency to ensure deadlines are met.
- Proven track record of success in building and leading an emerging function within a business.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or relevant functional area with advanced education preferred.
Location & Travel:
- The preferred work location for this role is Bethlehem, PA with some WFH flexibility

Salary Range
$132,780.00 - $218,130.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
