Job Description:
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Recruiting, Development, Alumni Relations, Retention, External Player Development, Name Image & Likeness (NIL), Academic Liaison, Budgets, EBuy, On the Court Coaching, On Court and In Game Responsibilities, and other miscellaneous jobs as assigned by the Head Coach.
Responsibilities Include:
- ?Act and serve as the associate head coach in all areas of the program.
- Work with the head coach to develop a yearly comprehensive recruiting strategy.
- Oversee all aspects of national and international recruiting efforts - including travel to both United States and overseas locations.
- Will serve as a liaison to the office of development and alumni relations as it relates to publicity, fundraising, and alumni relations for both the women's basketball program and athletic department to promote the team and the university.
- Will serve as director of player retention efforts. Will include a holistic approach that will include home visits, school visits, and a major focus on external development, such as career, financial, and social development.
- The associate head coach will need to have a deep knowledge of all name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules, trends, and look to mentor current players on NIL opportunities.
- Will actively engage with team members to establish and reinforce a positive culture based upon proactive communication and mutual respect.
- Will create a system to help serve and monitor the academic progress and development of the women's basketball team.
- Will handle all aspects of the budget, including initial budget proposal and monthly monitoring of expenses.
- Will assist in developing training and competition strategies.
- Will provide technical expertise and utilize sound coaching methods aimed at improving the performance of student athletes.
- Will assist with planning and supervision of in season and out of season practice sessions, both team and individual sessions.
- Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with administration, faculty, staff, and student-athletes and display professional sportsmanlike conduct during athletic events.
- The associate head coach assumes all duties of the head coach if for any reason the head coach cannot be present with the team for any duration.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred.
- Five to eight years of coaching experience as a graduate assistant, video coordinator, director of basketball operations or assistant coach at the intercollegiate level.
- Strong organizational, administrative, leadership and interpersonal skills. Impeccable integrity with a working knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations.
- Will require nights, weekends, and some holiday work hours; extensive travel in/out of season.
