Position Summary:
The Guided Wave Operator I and II is responsible for conducting or directing critical inspections and providing accurate and concise interpretation of results on gas, steam turbines, and generators utilizing remote inspection systems. These inspections are carried out at gas, fossil and nuclear power stations worldwide. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines.
Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Inspect pipelines, piping systems and other assets
  • Staying abreast of recent technologies and test procedures within the assigned organization and continually expand inspection qualifications.
  • Set-up and calibrate all equipment used, interpret, evaluate, and document results through formal reports.
  • Applies testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications.
  • Daily status communication with both client and IAG Operations

Complexity, Decision-Making, Problem Solving

  • Working in hard-to-reach-area.
  • While performance of the duties of this Guided Wave Operator are primarily in a specific location, the employee will be required to travel domestically. The employee must be able to travel as necessary, potentially with short notice, to fulfil customer needs (est. up to 85% of the time).
  • This position will encompass normal field project related business hours but will also need to work weekends/overtime/off-hours to meet the needs of our clients.

  • Wavemaker
  • Tele-test qualifies
  • Guided Wave Level I certification (Teletest or other recognized certification method required
  • ASNT Level II certifications
  • UT Level II certifications
  • MT Level II certifications

Management Responsibilities

  • None

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications)

  • Guided Wave Operator with Road Crossing
  • Guided Wave Operator with Buried Pipe qualifications
  • ASNT Level II certifications
  • UT Level II certifications
  • MT Level II certifications

Environmental/Working Conditions

  • Industrial Power Plants. Site required specific training and PPE.
  • Production shifts ranging from 12 to 16 hours per day.

Other Considerations/Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel globally on short notice, and for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit/stand for long periods of time; routinely walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee must be able to lift push, pull and/or move more than 100 pounds frequently.

Work Environment: The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
