Job description
The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is looking for a Group Experience Representative to provide superior customer service as they engage with MFA visitors. This position performs diversified duties relating to the visit of scheduled groups at the MFA. Our Representatives are the first contact with visitors at the Linde Family Entrance. A successful candidate will promote the MFA’s mission by providing a quality visitor experience to youth and adults through welcoming and directing visitors, enforcing policies, accurately responding to questions, monitoring the entrances and exits. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Essential Functions:
- Greet and welcome all registered groups.
- Collaborate with Group Experience staff, Protective Services staff, and MFA gallery educators and volunteer tour guides to ensure the smooth functioning of group entry and exit at the Linde Family Wing School Group Entrance.
- Assist in organizing and directing groups, including, but not limited to, assisting with the check-in process, orienting groups to the museum, introducing groups to guides, performing coat/bag check.
- Be proactive in approaching visitors and answering questions, including the location of amenities, as well as general Museum inquiries.
Secondary Functions:
- Basic Knowledge of Tessitura Ticketing System to book and sell general and group admission tickets.
- Perform pre and post-visit communications for information gathering and evaluation process, including distribution and collection of evaluation questionnaires.
Qualifications:
- An interest in art and engaging with the community
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a wide range of groups and individuals
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a desire to provide exemplary customer service experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- A high energy level and excels in working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and work outdoors
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Schedule and Salary
Part-Time Hourly, 25 hour per week
Monday – Friday, 9am – 2pm
Starts at $18.12 per hour
