What You Do
As a Group Coordination Specialist you are responsible for the supervision, assistance and training of persons served in the Community Connections Program. The Group Coordination Specialist will be responsible for supporting persons served with the implementation of their Person-Centered Plan as it pertains to group services. Duties include maintaining positive relationships with each person supported, completing required documentation, and providing direct support during the group service. The Group Coordination Specialist will provide assistance to our persons in a variety of choice based, inclusive activities within and around the Montcalm community. The Group Coordination Specialist must have availability after 4pm.

You also will be eligible for benefits after an introductory period. Health, vision, and dental insurance is available with three health insurance options currently available. We offer 12 paid holidays including the week between Christmas and New Year. We also provide PTO (paid time off) up to 3 weeks a year based on your hours worked. If you prefer, you can also cash out your PTO quarterly to help with special occasions you may need some extra cash for. We also offer 401k and tuition reimbursement after one year of employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma and two years volunteer, personal or work experience relevant to the job assignment.
- Able to communicate effectively in writing and speech, and to complete necessary reports.
- Able to assist in the Person-Centered Planning process and follow through with implementation of the plan.
- Physically capable of providing assistance to persons served as necessary throughout the course of service delivery. The position requires the ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree, or course work toward a degree in a related field.
- Completion of training relevant to rehabilitation i.e., First Aid, CPR, Gentle Teaching, Confrontation Avoidance, Physical Intervention, Basic Health and Medication, Recipient Rights, and Sign Language.
- Experience in the development of training curriculum and lesson planning.
