Position Summary:*
The GIS Analyst is responsible for overall support for the GIS department through creating & maintaining accurate GIS data and maps, identifying, and troubleshooting issues, and communicating effectively with the GIS department, Managers, Landmen, and Clients.

Essential Functions:*
- Coordinate with Prospect Managers/Landmen/Clients
- Determine mapping strategies, capabilities, possibilities, and project requirements
- Adapt procedures to closely meet Clients’ mapping requirements wherever possible
- Preparation of prospect maps and use of applicable mapping software
- Maintains and Administers Various GIS Systems
- Manage local data storage and organization for assigned projects
- Responsible for GIS Data Acquisition for assigned projects
- Support development of web/online mapping capabilities and data sharing
- Support users with mapping software. e.g. Google Earth Pro
- Develop efficient technical processes, utilize Model Builder and Python
- Work with IT/ Development staff on GIS related information services
- Utilize ESRI ArcGIS software platform
- Cartographic Products
- Maintain standard company map templates
- Build design-conscious and aesthetic mapping products
- Review produced mapping content and assist other GIS Staff with map design
- Communicate time requirements to management
- Research and Development
- Research new mapping software and hardware
- Communicate applicable use of new software to management
- Maintain knowledge of developments in the ESRI ArcGIS software platform
- Communicate with Technology Systems and Development Manager
- Hardware and software needs
- Computer assistance
- Hardware and software troubleshooting

Qualifications:*
- Bachelor’s degree required in Geography/GIS/Urban Planning/Computer Science or Engineering; OR any 4-year degree in combination with a University GIS Certification
- GIS experience within the Oil & Gas, ROW, Utilities, or other energy related industries preferred
- Excellent skills in the use of ArcGIS Desktop, Pro and Online products
- Strong data management skills and familiarity with database concepts
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proven excellent customer service orientation and ability to interface in a positive manner with internal and external customers at various organizational levels and from diverse cultures
- Experience with Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
