Gift Shop Floor Supervisor
The Gift Shop Floor Supervisor shares in the responsibility for the overall performance of the store and assists the store management team with generating sales operations. The candidate in this position must have a general understanding of gift and retail sales, driving a customer service culture, developing staff, maintaining store appearance, controlling expenses and cash handling procedures.
- Be a role model of providing legendary customer service by exemplifying the Every Customer, Every Time concept
- Train, lead, develop, motivate, evaluate and coach gift associates to meet goals / objectives
- Effectively oversee the sales floor to ensure customer / gift associate awareness at all times
- Maintain effective and efficient operations for opening and closing to include associate safety practices, injury and illness reporting, etc.
- Conduct daily huddles to facilitate communication, provide feedback and recognize accomplishments
- Remain current on all company policies and ensure that all policies, standards and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
- Advise management of any personnel increases or reduction as needed
- Assist with recruitment and hiring activities as well as gift associate training and development tasks
- Oversee inventory control in order to regulate and reduce shrinkage, maintain appropriate stock levels, maintain inventory order points, outs and negatives
- Responsible for assisting with the operation of the gift shop area including sales, cashiering, merchandising, inventory, pricing, and store cleanliness.
- Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, ability to check for understanding after direction is given, strong organization skills, ability to multitask, talented director of internal and external guest relations, team builder, basic math skills, computer skills (Google)
- Has extensive knowledge of product information
- Ability to build relationships with customers and team
- Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills preferred but not required
- Associate degree in business, business management or retail management or a closely related field and a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible and related supervisory experience; OR, high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience and retail knowledge strongly preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend and stoop, grasp products, reach, pull and push, and climb ladders frequently
- Must be able to frequently lift loads up to 40 lbs. unassisted and able to push and pull carts with products over 50 pounds with assistance
- Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver License with a clean driving record in accordance with the company’s insurance carries standards
