Position Summary & Qualifications:

Location: Lewisburg, PA
We are seeking a General Mechanic and a Trades Assistant in Plant Engineering!
Evangelical's Plant Engineering department performs a variety of general maintenance duties for the buildings, grounds, and equipment within the hospital. These positions assist tradesmen as needed; perform maintenance service and minor repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing; is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in areas of specialty; performs a variety of minor and preventative maintenance duties involving physical labor; and maintains mechanical rooms and work area in clean and orderly condition. Employees would be required to become familiar with Hospital emergency procedures, polices the hospital grounds, and assists with snow removal.
The Trades Assistant is a part-time, benefits eligible position working two 12-hour shifts on the weekend (Saturday 7pm-7am and Sunday 7pm-7am), working a total of 48-hours per biweekly pay period. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of similar work experience.
The General Mechanic is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position working 32-hours per biweekly pay period, mostly during the weekday hours. This position requires three years of similar work experience.
Both positions require a Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and an FBI criminal history check. Candidates may apply for one or both of these roles.
**If you are interested in both roles, the position would become a full-time, benefits eligible, 80-hours per biweekly pay period position. Candidates should indicate their interest in one or both positions during the interview process.

- Manual and finger dexterity to operate computer & equipment 100.00%
- Stand, bend, lift & grab/clean necessary items/instruments 65.00%
- Stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl/climb stairs/ladders/small spaces 35.00%
- Frequent walking to various areas of the dept/hospital 65.00%
- Subject to excessive dust or poor ventilation 80.00%
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling materials up to 50lbs 35.00%
- Able to exert high physical effort requiring above average strength and stamina 35.00%
- Able to use stepladders, extension ladders and climb scaffolding. 35.00%
