The incumbent will conduct gaming revenue tax and compliance audits, enforce the rules and regulations of the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, and participate in evaluations of casino business practices through onsite observation programs. We offer a competitive salary, paid vacations, paid holidays, and paid sick leave. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A minimum education of a high school diploma/GED with gaming accounting and/or auditing experience is highly preferred. Experience working in collaborative team environments and demonstrating effective time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail will be highly beneficial. Equally important is a strong work ethic, integrity, interpersonal skills, discretion, confidentiality, and a positive attitude.
Knowledge of:
- gaming industry;
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
- Generally Accepted Auditing Standards;
- effective written and verbal communication techniques auditing practices;
- Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- ability to understand, interpret state law, rules, and regulations as they apply to South Dakota gaming activities;
- communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing;
- gather, organize, and present information effectively and in a logical sequence;
- establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, other agencies, and the public;
- meet deadlines, think critically, and solve problems.
