Title: Fleet/ Shop Assistant

Department: Equipment

Reports to: Equipment Manager


JOB SUMMARY

The Fleet/ Shop Assistant is considered a general administrator who assists production and staff to meet deadlines and goals within the Equipment department as it relates to vehicle activities and transport, inspections. This position includes duties such as mechanic support, arranging deliveries/ pick-ups, maintenance of inventory, arranging maintenance repairs, and attending to daily needs of the department to ensure that all equipment needs throughout the company are met.


Job Description

  • Transport company vehicle to various locations throughout Florida and Georgia
  • Deliver and pick up of parts and equipment for the company via company transport; unload and load vehicle while maintaining safety guidelines and monitoring for damage
  • Maintain inventory and help maintain equipment; inspect vehicles regularly and report damages as applicable
  • Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures; Operate within compliance of DOT guidelines and requirements
  • Assist mechanics as needed with maintenance and repairs and tracking expenditures for such
  • Facilitate in preparation and setup of equipment, as well as production assignments
  • Perform other duties as required such as assist in creating and monitoring Purchase Orders/ Work Orders


Job Requirements

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing to include criminal background checks, MVR, and drug test. Must have a clean valid Florida driver’s license and maintain such.
  • Able to work at least eight (8) hours per day; hours could vary based on vehicle delivery requirements, weekly and daily schedules are subject to change based on production necessity
  • This position requires the ability to bend, kneel, walk or stand for long periods of time in all types of weather
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Effective communication and people skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask and consistently able to meet last-minute deadlines and manage time effectively
