About this opportunity
In the pursuit of world class Commercial capabilities and profitability tools, TC has created a new team within the packaging sector, the Commercial Excellence team. The team is led by Chris Cosgrove (SVP Commercial Excellence) and will support the packaging business in realizing stronger commercial capabilities, margin management projects, profitability by product and customer, and work to identify cost leakage across the sector.
What you will do
This role will be focused on supporting the business in building a Profitability Tool (Pocket Margin Database - PMDB). This profitability tool will enable the business to analyze profitability by product, customer, and market. As the Commercial Excellence Financial Analyst, you will be working with the Commercial Excellence team and local manufacturing plant teams to build the source database and profitability tool. This will include data cleansing, reviewing material and overhead costs, allocation methodology development, and coordinating all expense allocations. This role will report directly to the Finance Director of Commercial Excellence. This initial profitability tool build will take approximately 12-18 months.
Once the profitability tool is established (various timing for each of our 5 Business Groups) this role will shift towards supporting the businesses in analyzing their profitability and creating actions to drive further growth and margin expansion.
What you have to offer

• At least 2 years of financial analysis and/or plant accounting experience
• Willingness to travel to plants and work on site up to 15% of the time, with the ability to work from home/office when not traveling
• Ability to work with conflicting priorities
• Ability to work in a cross functional environment
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Advanced Excel skills (Formulas, Pivot)
• Experience with PRMS, Data3, Radius, FileMaker, Prism, or AX2 ERP’s is a plus
• Packaging experience is a plus
• BS in Accounting or Finance or relevant degree
