There’s not a typical day for an MCA Field Technician. Some days you….
- Make It Happen: Installs, programs, and maintains complex communication equipment to get customers up and running.
- Save The Day: Be hero to the heroes. Fixing the system if things go wrong and bringing communications back online to public safety, hospitals, utilities, manufacturing, and other mission critical customers.
- Rainmaker: Design and upgrade customer systems to the latest technologies and solutions.
Our field technicians work out of service shops across the Southeast. Most of the work is at customer sites, with short and long distances to some unique places. Sometimes you will work independently and other times as a team. Our field technicians also take call after hours as part of our service commitment to be there when the customer needs us most.

What We Look For:
- At least two (2) years of experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment.
- Understanding of / willingness to learn two-way radio theory.
- Experience operating testing equipment like spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDR’s, FDR’s, and multi-meters.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like walking, standing, driving, lifting up to 50lbs, and ascending / descending ladders and stairs with little to no limitation.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a 7-year background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
Exceptional candidates have:
- A two-year degree in Electronics, IT, or applicable subject.
- Proficient with Motorola equipment – installing, programming, and troubleshooting.
- P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience.
- BDA / DAS installation experience.
- CET certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
