Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and design network routes including interconnects to various carriers.
• Analyze network requirements, streamline design processes, order and work toward completion of new transport and transit circuits.
• Build and manage equipment & site inventory. Format designs to align with network elements being used.
• Follow complete ordering, installation, and documentation processes of every circuit deployment.
• Work with internal Viasat resources including Procurement and Legal to complete the onboarding and deployment process.
• Place orders for new leased circuits and place orders for changes or disconnection of leased circuits and track each to completion.
• Update circuit documentation in various tracking systems.
• Work with vendors on new path connectivity and existing path retrofits including review KMZs and ensure diversity where required
• Dispatch remote hands and walk through access site connectivity as well as above mentioned data center
• Review billing and accounting issues for circuits.
• Perform circuit analysis, research and design.

Requirements:

• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to facilitate and/or work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience checking and verifying cross connects and connections.
• Experience with various interface types, optics, fibers, and connector types
• Experience with data integrity projects, Project Management, equipment mapping, service delivery provisioning, transport and circuit Design.
• Proficient in speaking to data center vernacular (meet-me-room's, panels, cross connects, LOA/CFA, etc) and working with field technicians in those environments
• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes within the entire business unit without jeopardizing reliability, availability, or safety (prior experience)
• Experience using Juniper, Cisco, and other various routing and switching platforms including but not limited to light level reading, MTU configuration, software loop, port enable/disable and etc
• 5+ years of relatable work experience
• BS/BA degree in a related technical field or equivalent years of experience

• Understanding of DWDM and CWDM
