Job description

The Edgewater Beach Hotel is looking for an Event Manager to complete their Food & Beverage team. The Event Manager is responsible for providing customer service by promoting and selling catering/banquet experiences. Must possess exceptional customer service and a high sense of urgency.

Requirements:

· Achieve catering services by contributing information; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, quality, and customer service standards; identifying and resolving problems, completing post function production reports.

· Must be proficient in general computer knowledge (email, internet, word, excel, room design, catering sales programs).

· Candidate should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast paced environment.

· Creates Banquet Event Orders and uses active upselling techniques when guiding the client in planning their event.

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night, weekends and holidays.

· Projects supply needs for the department (i.e china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props).

· Assists team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.

· Applies and continually broadens knowledge of food and beverage pairings and cutting edge cuisine with emphasis on current event trends

· Acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff

· Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events

· Interacts with guest to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels

· Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
