Job description

Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles located in the Los Angeles International Airport area is searching for an experienced Estimator. With a 50+ year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.

SCOPE

The successful candidate should have experience in a defense or commercial aerospace company, preferably in the manufacturing and/or procurement environment. This position requires the ability to perform and excel in the following areas:

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Prepare cost estimates to support proposal preparation and lead times

· Prepare and release Request for Proposals (RFP) with Marvin approved suppliers utilizing the SAP Estimating Module

· Understand and interpret customer’s requirements, bill of materials, blue prints, engineering data packages and models

· Continuous follow up in a fast paced environment via in-person visits, phone calls and emails with suppliers

· Must demonstrate attention to detail during review of proposals, bill of materials, and internal / external meetings

· Track variances between estimated and historical costs to effectively evaluate the adequacy and accuracy of parameters

· Build strong, cooperative working relationships with suppliers, buyers, and business development personnel

· Utilize SAP Bill of Material data generator to determine part history such as previous suppliers, costs, and performance.

· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor Degree (or career path will be considered)

· 1-3 years experience in Estimating, Procurement, Price Cost Analysis, or Finance

· Experience with Microsoft Office, intermediate level or higher user in Excel

DESIRED SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

· Excellent written, oral, and task coordination skills

· Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Account Standards (CAS)

· Financial and procurement analysis skills

· Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks with little to no direction

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Team player (Can-do-attitude)

· Previous SAP experience a plus

· Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
