About this opportunity
The TC Transcontinental Tulsa, OK site has an opening for an EHS Coordinator. The EHS Coordinator will be instrumental in driving a culture of Environmental, Health and Safety in the TC Transcontinental Tulsa manufacturing facility.
What you will do
- Lead the Team by scheduling, creating meeting agendas, facilitating meetings, training, and conducting follow-up on identified action items.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes related to safety and environment.
- Participate in the TC Corporate safety audit, develop action plan to address any issues, track and facilitate action items through completion.
- Review and update OSHA required written programs and company safety manual.
- Ensure that accident/injury investigations are completed and properly documented, root causes identified, and preventive action steps are tracked and completed. Directly participate in accident investigations whenever feasible.
- Maintain all safety records including OSHA 300 and 300A, training, annual hearing tests, inspections, SDS sheets, are maintained.
- Conduct investigations into employee inquiries, suggestions and complaints and responds in a timely manner.
- Monitor and track injury records, 24/72, Near Miss, and BOP submissions to identify trends and bring to the safety team for brainstorming solutions.
- Ensure that all OSHA and Company required safety training is scheduled and conducted according to established timeline.
- Provide required safety training during New Team Member Orientation.
- Conduct random safety inspections, recognize safe work practices, cite any offenses, and take corrective measures to ensure safe work practices.
- Complete all required environmental audits and reporting for the corporate, state, federal and local government agencies.
- Coordinate and execute all safety recognition programs and lunches.
- Uphold all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct.
- Responsible for reporting all safety, quality, and food safety concerns to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Follow procedures for proper handling, labeling, storage, and use of various types of products within the plant or on company property to comply with SQF certification requirements.
- Develop/customize safety and health policies and procedures for the facility.
- Assist General Manager in the development of Facility and Individual Safety Goals.
- Interface with federal and state regulatory personnel.
- Assign safety and housekeeping inspections and focus safety audits and maintain corrective action documentation.
- Responsible for OSHA recordkeeping and injury management.
- Schedule, coordinate, execute, and track annual Hearing Conservation Program.
- Ensure Emergency Response Plan is in place.
- Ensure First Responder Team is trained and in place.
- Serve as facility HAZCOM Coordinator.
- Serve as Industrial Hygiene Coordinator (submit sampling plan, schedule sampling, maintain IH data sheets, respond to reports, etc.).
- Serve as Behavior Based Observation Process (BOP) Coordinator.
- Ensure Chemical Control Processes are appropriately implemented.
- Develop and conduct safety training customized for the facility and maintain attendance records and training calendar.
- Respond to claims of work-related injuries, (respond to emergency situations, report, schedule doctor’s appointments, communicate with insurance carriers, interface with Human Resources personnel, follow-up, etc.).
- Submit monthly safety reports to Corporate Safety.
- Review MSDS Sheets and maintain master book, update associated lists and determine if specific training is necessary.
- Responsible to maintain safety communications boards (mandatory postings, safety committee minutes, etc.)
- Serve as Radiation Safety Officer for the plant
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
What you have to offer
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of four years’ safety and environmental experience or equivalent education and experience.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certified.
- Intermediate user of MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
