Insurance Member Service and Risk Analyst
Position Overview:
McGriff Insurance Services is a national leader in the insurance consulting industry. We are looking for an entry-level member service and risk analyst to serve our public entity clients. We work remotely from home and return to our Portland office a couple of days or more per week depending on team schedules and needs. You will work with a team of 17, in an office of 45, to provide outstanding client support to members and prospects of several self-insurance programs.

Responsibilities:
Underwriting Services: - Support senior underwriters to achieve excellent underwriting results and drive underwriting innovation/automation
- Review member applications and enter exposure and loss data in database
- Prepare and discuss strategies with senior underwriters before releasing quotes to members and brokers
- Process member renewals, including but not limited to reviewing and approving renewal applications, generating renewal documents, and sending renewal packets
- Process rating changes and assist with experience modification annually
- Conduct coverage audit to true up exposure basis for premium calculation
Member Services:
- Provide professional services to member and broker inquiries related to billing, coverage, and basic underwriting to ensure customer satisfaction
- Process coverage change requests and issue endorsements
- Issue certificate of insurance upon request
- Respond to member and broker billing questions and dispute
- Prepare and provide claims reports, coverage documents and other ad-hoc reports
- Assist with annual membership meeting packet and board packets
- Collect and groom internal and external data to assist with data initiatives and decision-making processes
- Assist with developing and updating several pricing models
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate program performance in KPIs
- Review business requirements and conduct what-if analysis to advise potential impact from policy and underwriting guideline changes
Bookkeeping:
- Provide high quality and efficient bookkeeping services for internal and external stakeholders
- Retrieve mail from Post Office, process checks as well as electronic payments, and reconcile deposits for accounting on a weekly basis
- Process accounts payable and receivable invoices
- Update and maintain weekly aged receivable reports, and issue past due notices to members and brokers
- Apply credits, refunds, and write-offs in database
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, or related field
- Intermediate Excel skills with demonstrated curiosity in technology
- Proven research and analytical skills with ability to collect and groom data
- Ability to take initiatives and transform ambiguous ideas and projects into specific workflows
- Demonstrated success prioritizing work and multi-task skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to promptly respond to internal and external requests
- Must pass required state insurance licensing exam within 6 to 12 months
- Continuing education to obtain professional designations to advance career
