Electronic Manufacturing company in Owings Mills seeking Engineering Tech for position! Company seeing experience with Labview!
The Engineering Technician will report directly to the Advanced Products Group Lead and primary responsibilities include building, troubleshooting and operating various electronic and electro-mechanical test and manufacturing fixtures, calibration jigs, etc. Perform verification tests, stock and maintain lab supplies, ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained, as needed, equipment and supplies for new projects. Works closely with Operations on advanced trouble shooting and manufacturing projects to aide in the production of new and existing products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Works in the engineering lab assisting with prototyping and testing for new and existing product development, assists with operations including but not limited to trouble shooting and re-work of existing products.
· Assist Engineers in designing, building, troubleshooting and operation of various test fixtures, calibration jigs and prototypes as well as fixtures that will eventually be transferred to manufacturing.
· Use various lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, soldering stations, and various hand tools needed to assemble fixtures.
· Use equipment control and data collection systems such as LabView or similar.
· Record and maintain various test results in Excel, MATLAB, or similar, and summarize results in test reports.
· Compile lists of parts and supplies; order, maintain and manage the engineering lab inventory and keep the engineering lab in good order.
· Read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics, assembly drawings and work procedures.
· Accurately recognize and diagnose non-conforming test results.
· Maintain accurate record keeping and documentation to meet the above requirements.
· Services products in conjunction with the production and service department – troubleshoots products and calibrates products as needed.
· Performs trouble shooting to the component level on devices to assist with resolving manufacturing problems during the production of instruments.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Background and Skills Required:
· Associates Degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or H.S. Diploma plus equivalent Technical Certification in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or similar
· 5+ years of experience as an electronic technician in a lab-type, engineering or manufacturing environment
· Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics and wiring diagrams
· Advanced troubleshooting skills with electronic and electro-mechanical products and systems
· Soldering skills including surface mount and rework
· Familiarity with equipment control and data collection systems such as LabView
· Proficient Microsoft Office skills
· Excellent communication skills and ability to follow engineering’s detailed instructions – and to provide input for improvement / optimization · Strong skills in organizing and maintaining a lab
Additional Background and Skills Preferred:
· Electronics training and/or experience in a regulated environment such as medical instrumentation, electronic testing equipment, aeronautics · Ability to develop and document test processes for electronic equipment
· Experience with Opto-Mechanical assembly
· Experience operating and maintaining 3D printers
