Job description
Duties:
1. Manage a team of Leads in the day to day operation of multiple programs
- Provide technical input and guidance to the team.
- Make necessary decisions that balance safety, schedule and efficiency.
2. Ensure processes are well documented and rigidly followed.
3. Initiate improvements by pushing for change and ensure the changes are robustly thought through and communicated to impacted parties.
4. Ensure Leads have their teams fully loaded with relevant work, understand their scope, and are enabled to perform.
5. Report key metrics to management and Program Managers to ensure correct visibility is given to key issues.
6. Mentor and develop engineers within the team to ensure professional growth, satisfaction, and succession planning.
7. Develop strategic plans for capability enhancements, optimization, cost savings etc.
8. Perform administrative tasks such as shift scheduling of the team, performance previews, and annual
reviews, timesheet review etc.
9. Provide timely feedback to low performers and ensure robust recovery plans are followed.
10. Support the wider flight test team by representing engineering and ensuring our common goals are achieved.
11. Ensure engineering team supports overall flight test program objectives.
Travel: Travel to/from internal AeroTEC sites (both in and out of state) and traveling for customer visits as required. Travel may be domestic/international as driven by the customer. Travel approximately 10% - 15%.
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent or 3-year foreign Bachelors’ degree) in an Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of Aerospace Engineering or Flight-Testing field experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team.
- Demonstrated experience with new product development.
Salary:
Regular, Full-time/Exempt; $181,300 - $221,400.00 – Annually, standard employee benefits.
