Engineering Applications Developer

Houston, TX

Contech Control Services is seeking team-oriented professionals who have expert knowledge in developing and implementing Engineering Tools applications in Microsoft Excel & Access.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Use Visual Basic in Microsoft Applications, including Excel and Access
• Use Advanced Excel and Access capabilities, including pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas and graphing to streamline business processes
• Develop test plans and software documentation to support new releases and code modifications
• Confer with internal customers to gain understanding of needs
• Assist other staff with development activities
• Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and established standards are in use

Requirements

The Engineering Applications Developer requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

• B.S. Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the requested field
• Minimum of 5+ years of applications programming experience in the Engineering industry, plus 3+ years using VBA
• Advanced Excel and Access skills (i.e. complex formulas)
• Able to debug/code difficult functions/macros using VBA
• Ability to programmatically manipulate worksheet and cell properties using VBA
• Must possess problem solving skills and be proactive in researching solutions
• Experience developing Engineering tools is required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Working conditions are as follows:

• Position Type: 6 months contract
• Standard Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30pm
• Overtime: Occasionally
• Travel: Minimal (maximum of 10%)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
