General Statement of Position

This position performs standard functions of changing of tooling and the simple operation of machines, including loading and unloading parts. Duties may vary, depending on the department.


Essential Job Functions

  • Follow TSCO standards, policies and objectives.
  • Ability to apply TS16949 guidelines and best practices.
  • Uses machines to produce parts for the next production process or for shipment to customers.
  • Must be able to ensure all bolts are tight, tooling is secure and machine is properly lubricated.
  • Ability to properly load and unload.
  • Ensures operating sequences are followed and tooling is cleaned after each use.
  • Must be able to do First Article Inspection and periodic production runs inspections.
  • Maintains general housekeeping for work area.


Knowledge, skills and abilities required

  • Must have general or working knowledge, at least average skill, and some experience with ordinary to semi-complex equipment operation.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to do basic math, including decimals and percentages.
  • Must be able to complete tooling changes and start-up and shut-down of machines.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of common materials.


Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous mental and visual attention is required.
  • Requires constant alertness and attention to detail of correct product shipped and the count quantity.
  • Work involves likelihood of irregularity of work schedule to meet customer demand.
  • Performing these duties will involve lifting, pulling, or pushing physical objects; standing, stooping and bending, walking and standing for long periods of time.
  • Working in hot, cold, noisy work areas and being exposed to odors, fumes, and dust.
  • Must be able to constantly sustain exertion and lifting of parts ranging from 0 75 lbs.
  • Personal Protective Equipment includes safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
