New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation, providing services to infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities. We are currently hiring an Employment Specialist to work in our Supported Employment Services, located in Edison, NJ. The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and experience working with adults with disabilities. The job requires moderate travel to job sites for the assigned caseload using an agency vehicle or personal vehicle.

Job Responsibilities of an Employment Specialist:
  • Responsible for assisting clients in obtaining competitive employment by providing pre-vocational/job development, intensive, and follow-along support services
  • Work independently and directly with the clients facilitating job search, job development, and job retention processes aimed at securing and maintaining meaningful employment
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, employers, and stakeholders
Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelors degree and experience working with adults with disabilities
  • A valid driver's license in good standing & must be insurable through NJID's automobile insurance
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Location: Edison County: Middlesex County

Hours Per Work Week: 25 Weekly Work Schedule: Flexible
