Emergency Services Manager
Job description
Essential Functions:
Coordinates, develops, prepares, and implements emergency management response and recovery plans
UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION
Assists in budget preparation and monitors and controls expenditures
Develops training materials and conducts training programs
Develops, coordinates, and implements procedures for natural and technological emergencies
Assists with emergency and disaster preparation and planning
Responds to disasters and emergency situations
Coordinates evacuations, relocations, and resource allocations
Establishes priorities during disasters and major emergencies
Teaches courses in preparedness, for response to or recovery from natural or technological emergencies or disasters for emergency response organizations, industry and private organizations
Develops, coordinates and conducts briefings, orientations, seminars, community tests, exercises and drills
Represents the department on committees, task forces and at meetings
Researches and studies technical emergency planning
Performs related work
Bachelors degree:
Business Administration
Computer Science
Liberal Arts
Physical Science
Police Administration
Public Administration
Social Science
Related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Two years of emergency response, law enforcement, fire, emergency medical, dispatch, telecommunications; radio systems, electronics, or computer operations experience
EQUIVALENCY
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must not have been convicted of a felony
Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis
Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening
Must be on 24 hour call
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be certified in Basic CPR and Basic First Aid in the State of Kentucky or obtain within six months of employment
Must complete an Emergency Response to Hazardous Material Incidents (16515) course approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency or obtain within six months of employment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
SALARY GRADE: NU / 10
TEST WEIGHTS: 100% Training and Experience
