Headquartered in Orlando, FL, Athena Technologies LLC dba ("Athena-Tek") is doing real-time R&D working with the most cutting-edge wireless technologies to deliver advanced solutions to the defense and commercial sector.

• Design and implement software for embedded devices and systems following a Systems Engineering approach and lifecycle management
• Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software
• Optimize system software considering Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP)
• Install and integrate system software in devices for unit and pre-production tests
• Document requirements, specifications, and design for software development
• Perform market research and analysis of alternatives (AoA) for wireless and network enhancements
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Need for this Position

Required

• MS or Ph.D. in E.E., C.S., or related
• 8+ years of experience
• Minimum 3 years in application development for embedded systems
• Strong grasp and knowledge of the C and/or C++ programming languages, or their derivatives
• Experience with embedded Linux, building Linux and modifying a BSP.
• Familiar with Yocto, Linux BSP, cross-compilation.
• Understands networking principles, protocols, and the OSI stack model
• Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
• Excellent debugging skills
• Familiarity with software configuration management and version control tools
• Team-oriented individual with good interpersonal skills
• Be willing and able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance

Bonus

• Developing + Debugging embedded cellular 5G/4G systems
• Wireless Comm Systems (MAC / PHY)
• Computer Science concepts like graph theory or complexity analysis
• Linux Kernel device drivers
• ns2/3, Qualnet, Opnet, EMANE frameworks
• Waveform development/porting
• 4G/5G device drivers
• Familiarity with wireless protocols 5G/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee
• Understanding with Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) protocols
