Description

American Commerical Barge (ACBL) is hiring an Electrical Supervisor our Western Terminal facility in St. Louis, MO. This position is to maintain systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts of low and high voltage systems, including PLC. This person will be responsible for supervising the hourly workforce in the transfer of coal through the terminal in the safest and most cost-effective manner.

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT

  • Meets maintenance operational and financial standards by contributing to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments to identify areas of concern and develop plans to repair, improve, or replace as needed.
  • Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
  • Directs, schedules, and manages the work activities of the unionized hourly Team Members to ensure their safe and efficient operation through enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the efficient loading and unloading of coal from unit trains to stockpile and/or barges.
  • Directs the cleaning and maintenance of terminal and equipment to eliminate production problems.
  • Communicate daily with customers, railroad and vessels concerning ETA’s to schedule production and maintenance.
  • Performs daily inspections of the terminal/equipment and reports mechanical problems and schedules cleaning.
  • Maintains regular logs and records for Air Permitting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for...

  • Bachelor's degree in business and/or related field is preferred (electrical engineering and mechanical engineering is a plus).
  • 3-5 years of previous supervisory competence in a unionized construction, electrical, manufacturing or transportation environment
  • Knowledge of barging operations preferred.
  • Must qualify for a TWIC card.
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Proficient in using Purchasing/Inventory/Maintenance control software.
  • Experience with materials management, equipment and supplies required in the operations and maintenance of conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, mobile equipment, barges and/or marine equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • On-call duties may be required at times.
