In 1957, Franz Binder, sr. founded the since then existing independent family business binderholz as a small “one-gate sawmill” in Fügen in Zillertal of Tyrol.
Today, apart from the headquarters in Fugen in Tyrol Binderholz has 28 further sites. Around 5,000 employees at five Austrian, five German, fourteen British, one Latvian, two Finish and two US sites share passion for wood. The production sites thereby offer a great variety of diverse work fields and career opportunities in industrial wood processing.

The binderholz group has become one of the biggest solid timber producing companies in Europe. Both in the treatment and in the processing of the quite essential raw material wood, and with regard to our present and future employees, we are centrally oriented on the concept of sustainability.

In 2020 we have acquired our new US production sites Binderholz Enfield LLC. & Binderholz Live Oak LLC. in Florida, developing our US organization and market presence to a larger scale step by step. We have been importing various mass timber products to the US & Canada for years, but with our own US sales entity in Atlanta, GA and our new production sites in Enfield, NC & Live Oak, FL we are heading to meet the growing demand of saw timber and massive wood products through regionally sourced and produced binderholz products in America.

Job Summary:

The EH&S Tech reports to the EH&S Supervisor and is a key source of knowledge on environmental, health and safety regulations and applicable organizational policies and best practices. This position supports the organization’s safety compliance vision and strategic direction. The EH&S Tech is responsible for supporting business units on implementing OSHA Programs, and additional initiatives including providing guidance and interpretation on EH&S regulations to employees across the organization, promoting a strong safety and compliance culture, and educating and training employees.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to assigned business units for processes and activities including compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Serve as a resource and provide guidance on OSHA reporting and proper classification of workplace incidents
• Assist in incident investigation and root cause analysis for EH&S incidents at assigned business units
• Provide support and guidance in the successful implementation of OSHA Programs and other processes as identified
• Coordinate and assist with OSHA inspections
• Provide support to business units to drive continuous improvement and strengthen current processes
• Assists in the development of EH&S course materials and conduct training as required
• Assist with EH&S related awareness and communications
• Provides support in the implementation of emergency planning initiatives as well as business continuity, crisis management and pandemic planning
• Drives and supports a culture focused on safety
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum of one year health and safety experience
• Background in health and safety, including DOT, OSHA Cooperative Programs, OSHA recordkeeping and reporting, and compliance
• OSHA 30 Certification
• On-call availability to respond to emergency situations

• Ability to navigate potentially difficult environments to access necessary locations/equipment
• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking during inspections
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time
• Ability to properly utilize PPE necessary for individual location requirements
• Ability to work in environments that are hot, loud and dusty
