QUALIFICATIONS:*
1. Minimum two years post-secondary (48 credits), Associate Degree, or passing score on the Title I Paraprofessional Assessment test administered through I.U.5, preferred.
- High School diploma.
- Computer and office skills required.
- Good communication skills required.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining a calm and helpful demeanor.
- Knowledge of school office, and library preferred.
- Ability to work with elementary age students in a supportive and guiding capacity.
- Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading readiness, writing and mathematics.
- Maintain confidentiality of District and school business.
- Willingness to learn new software or equipment as needed.
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.

JOB GOAL: *Support the delivery of the educational program to students.
*
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:*
- Assist the teachers as needed, with non-instructional duties, and in guiding and supervising students.
- Assist in the office with various duties, i.e. front door security, phones, mailings, filing, document preparation, computer data entry, reports etc.
- Assist in the library with duties as assigned by the principal/librarian.
- Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit and talk and hear.
- Ability to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and move quickly when necessary to promote student learning and/or safety.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push items of 50 lbs such as pushing children in a wheelchair or moving/rearranging furniture.
SENSORY ABILITY:
- Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
- Auditory acuity to be able to use telephone.
- Visual acuity to read correspondence and computer screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Indoor and outdoor environments.
TEMPERAMENT:
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Must be courteous.
- Must be cooperative, congenial, service oriented, and promote these qualities in the building.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
COGNITIVE ABILITY:
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal skills.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, staff, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to read, write and do computations.

- Ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks, and problem solving.
- Ability to use correct grammar, sentence structure and spelling.
