BPN Staffing Solutions is seeking an Echo Tech to fulfill a 13-week contract at a facility in VA.

Essential Functions

• Performs diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echo procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Records quality information while performing echocardiographic imaging and following procedural guidelines and protocols.
• Explains procedures and possible side effects of each procedure to the patient or family member to relieve fears and anxieties associated with the diagnostic cardiology procedure.
• Confirms all physician requests and evaluates patient’s clinical history for proper clinical indicators and possible contraindications for procedure requested.
• Collaborates with physician to ensure quality patient care.
• Operates equipment used to perform echocardiograms.
• Maintains patient medical records.
• Organizes 3 stages involved in the reporting process: study completion, physician interpretation and final report.
• Submits final reports to appropriate nursing unit, physician office or medical records as requested.

Certifications & Licenses:

• Must maintain current CPR certification
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer/Cardiovascular Technology or registry eligible (ARDMS, CCI/NBCVT)-preferred

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS

This work REQUIRES A DEGREE OR CERTIFICATE from an AMA approved school in an allied health field with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics and diseases of the cardiovascular systems.

Work requires knowledge and experience in ultrasound imaging, Doppler and Color flow techniques; must have ability to properly operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment at a level generally acquired during six to twelve months of on-the-job training and/or experience.

Experience:

• Required- 2 years of Clinical experience as an echocardiographer
• Highly desired -Previous pediatric stress echo and transesophageal echocardiography experience

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
