Job description

Qualified candidates must hold a valid VT Educator license with a Driver Education endorsement (2-30), hold a valid VT Driver's License, and have an acceptable DMV record. Candidates must also be able to provide both effective classroom instruction as well as driving lessons for students.

Additional qualifications include:

• Strong background in teaching Driver Education preferred.

• Expertise in utilizing technology in a transformative manner to support instruction.

• Knowledge and/or experience using “backwards design” for lesson development, differentiated instruction to support learning for all students, and formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson delivery.

• Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students.

• Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, creative and collaborative skills.

• Commitment to the success of ALL students, and ability to understand and teach to the various learning styles of students.

• The ability and enthusiasm to effectively engage students and help them to own their learning.

• Commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of knowledge and professional practice and a willingness to take risks as a continuous active learner.
